dc.description.abstractThe general objective of the study was to determine the institutional factors affecting employee performance in Budaka Local Government. The study was guided by the following objectives: to establish the effect of technical factors affecting employee performance in service delivery in Budaka Local government; to examine the effect of administrative factors affecting employee performance in service delivery in Budaka Local government and to assess the effect of funding on employee performance in service delivery in Budaka Local government. A cross-sectional survey design was used. The study predominantly employed a quantitative approach but also use a qualitative approach. The study population consisted of 58 participants. A sample size of 50 was selected. A simple random technique and purposive sampling were to choose respondents. Quantitative data analysis mainly consisted of descriptive statistics (percentages) and inferential statistics (Spearman correlation, coefficient of determination and regression). Content analysis was used to analyze qualitative data. Findings revealed a positive effect of technical factors on employee performance in Budaka local government. Administrative factors had a positive effect with employee performance in Budaka local government and funding had a positive effect on employee performance in Budaka local government. It was concluded that technical factors, administrative factors and funding had a positive effect on employee performance in Budaka local government. It is recommended that there is a need to ensure that Budaka local government top and senior management need to give high priority to the coaching of staff and improved transparency in administration.en_US
