T The study investigated the relationship between management practices and performance of Non-Government Organisations in Uganda, taking a case study of Share An Opportunity Uganda. Specifically, the study observed the effect of planning, human resource management, and internal controls on the performance of Share An Opportunity Uganda. Questionnaires and interview guides were used to observe a sample of 174. Data was analysed using themes, measures of central tendency and inferential statistics. The findings showed that there was positive relationship between organisational performance and planning and Internal controls. Whereas many studies and literature point out that HRM influences performance, the findings in this study indicated non-significant relationship exists between HRM and organisational performance. The study recommended that management and the Board should consider development of the internal management capacity of SAO, U as an important factor in enhancing its organisational performance. Internal needs should be identified, prioritized and budgeted for alongside program priorities.en_US
