dc.description.abstract | This study was purposely conducted with an overall aim of examining the contribution of Institutional Procurement Practices on Organizational Performance A case study of Selected Examinations Boards in Uganda, specifically it sought to establish the influence of procurement planning on organizational performance of selected examinations boards in Uganda; To determine whether contracts management affects organizational performance of selected examinations boards in Uganda, and To establish the influence of procurement records management systems on organizational performance of selected examinations boards in Uganda. A cross-sectional survey design was used, as well as stratified random sampling method, with a sample size of 73 out of 90 employees of UBTEB, UNMEB, UAHEB. The research hypotheses were tested using a Chi-square test for independence, along with Crammers’ V to test for strength of the relationship. Regression analysis was also performed to reveal how much of the dependent variable was explained by the independent variables. This study concluded with 95% confidence level, that indeed procurement planning does significantly influence organizational performance (P-Value= 0.000). Contract management also had a significant influence with a fairly strong positive linear correlation with organizational performance (P-Value = 0.013, R- Value = 0.683)). However, procurement record management was found to have no significant influence, but rather weak positive correlation with organizational performance (P-Value = 0.053, R- Value = 0.326)). Conclusively, over half (54.2%) of all the variation in organizational performance (dependent variable) was explained by the linear relationship between procurement planning, contract management, and procurement record management and the organizational performance, but with procurement planning having the greatest effect. This study therefore recommended that efforts should be put on further improving; most importantly procurement planning, contract management and procurement record management system, respectively so as to enhance organizational performance. | en_US |
