Abstract
This study analysed the contribution of Human Resource Management practices to motivation
among Bank of Uganda (BOU) employees. Specifically, the study sought to analyse the
contribution of; performance appraisal, reward and compensation management and
engagement practices to motivation among BOU employees. The study used the descriptive
research design and adopted both the qualitative and quantitative approaches. Data was
collected using a structured questionnaire and interview guide from a sample of 100
respondents. The data was quantitatively and qualitatively analysed using measures of central
tendency, Pearson’s correlation, regression analysis and content analysis respectively. The
findings of the study indicated that performance appraisal, reward and compensation
management and employee engagement practices positively and significantly contribute to
motivation among Bank of Uganda employees.
