Item Critical success factors for public assets disposal in organizations: A study of Ministry of Public Service, Uganda(Uganda Management Institute, 2017-01) Adoko, Peter ObicciPublic assets disposal ensures that assets in possession of an organization are fit-for-use to achieve organizational objectives. This study aimed to assess the effects of critical success factors on public assets disposal in organizations in Uganda. Questionnaire survey and interview guides supplemented by documentary review guide were used to elicit the perceptions of government employees on the critical success factors for public assets disposal in Uganda. One hundred sixteen usable responses were analyzed using Statistical Program for Social Scientist (SPSS) to determine the effects of critical success factors on public assets disposal. Qualitative data obtained through interview with five procurement staff were analyzed using content analysis. The overall results show that “strategic asset management (.784)”, “asset disposal strategic planning (.857)”, and “asset disposal mechanism (.794)” have significantly positive effect on public assets disposal in organizations in Uganda. From the research findings, it can be concluded that strategic asset management, asset disposal strategic planning and asset disposal mechanism do affect public assets disposal in organizations in Uganda. The study recommends that management of organizations needs to promote utilization of critical success factors for public assets disposal. The study provides the first systematic and comprehensive insight into how critical success factors can facilitate public assets disposal in organizations.
