Item Information Technology Infrastructure Capability and Financial Performance of Barclays Bank Uganda Limited(Uganda Management Institute, 2018-01) Munnet, Samuel NixonThe purpose of the study was to investigate the influence that IT infrastructure has on financial performance at Barclays Bank. The study was guided by the following specific objectives; to establish the relationship between IT compatibility and financial performance; the relationship between IT connectivity and financial performance; and the relationship between IT application functionality and financial performance in Barclays Bank. Using a cross sectional study design, responses were collected from 134 respondents out a population of 179 respondents. Data on the sample characteristics and objectives were analyzed according to frequency tabulations and Pearson correlation matrix respectively and regression analysis was used to examine the predictive power of staff training on financial performance. From the findings: IT compatibility (r=.582**), IT connectivity (r =.469**) and IT application functionality (r=.540**) had positive significant relationships with financial performance showing that IT infrastructure capability had a positive effect on financial performance at Barclays Bank. Results from regression analysis showed IT compatibility, IT application functionality and IT connectivity were strong predictors of financial performance (Adjusted R Square = .466). The study recommended that; the management of the bank should develop strategies inclined to IT compatibility, IT application functionality and IT connectivity so as to enhance the financial performance at Barclays Bank. The strategies will help foster the development and implementation of IT infrastructure capability which promote profitability, sales growth, liquidity and return on investment.
